 OK - Let's see if there is anyone out there who will participate in the New Poetry Carnival's first poetry contest.
Since Halloween is fastly approaching us - this will be a themed contest due to Halloween - but the tough part... the whole poem must contain only 31 syllables! 
Good luck, the contest will end on October 30 at midnight and voting will take place on October 31.

Ok, here's my little entry...
one less mouth to feed
as a child,
I had no pumpkin to carve
not much food--
very often we would starve
my jack-o-lantern
was sister's severed head...
